‘Beer, Boots, Brats and Barbeque’ raises $50,000

The Cowboys and Cowgirls came out in large numbers for the Kohala Hospital Charitable Foundation’s “Beer, Boots, Brats and Barbeque” Party April 28th at Kahua Ranch. The tents were up, the tables set and the chefs and volunteers lined up for a fabulous dinner with barbecued beef, sausages, potato salad, baked beans, sauerkraut, salad and a large chocolate cake. The wine and beer was flowing freely, and the music by Hawi’s own “Paul Nash” and his Band and “Bluegrass Jack” put everyone in a great mood for the silent and live auctions, where everything from a cow to a saddle, handbag and jewelry, hotel stays and golf packages were awarded to the highest bidders. The Foundation is very proud to announce that over $ 50,000 was raised for the Kohala Hospital Emergency Room Building Fund.

The KHCF wants to thank the people of North Kohala and beyond, Kahua Ranch, the many donors, the hotels, especially the Waikoloa Hilton, the local businesses, Chefs Hans Peter Hager and Carter Chu and their crews, Bitburger Brewery and Johnson Bros. of Hawaii, Waimea Party Rental, Fred Fig all the volunteers and the Musicians for their great generosity. You helped us make this event so fabulously successful.
